Details of Neuropsychological Evaluation
The following outlines the standard neuropsychological evaluation, including the assessment of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
  • If your child is schooled in French, the evaluation must be conducted in French. Similarly, if schooled in English, the evaluation must be conducted in English. We do not assess academic learning in English.
  • It is important to provide all previous professional evaluation reports and/or follow-up notes to better document your child’s case.
The standard neuropsychological evaluation begins with an initial interview with the parents to complete the child’s developmental and current history. This is followed by 2 to 3 evaluation sessions with the child. Afterward, there is an approximately 4-week waiting period before the feedback session, during which results, recommendations, and priority services are explained to assist your child.
The approximate cost for this service is $2,250 (fees are subject to change without notice). This amount is distributed across the various stages of the evaluation process. Payments are made directly to the professional, who will provide corresponding receipts for your insurance (psychological or neuropsychological services) or tax purposes. Only cash, Interac transfers, or credit card payments are accepted.
For the assessment of additional issues, an additional session will be required per issue (approximately 2 to 2.5 hours of evaluation time per issue) at an additional cost of $750/issue.
For learning disability assessments (e.g., dyslexia, dysorthographia, dyscalculia), your child must have completed their second year of primary school before undergoing evaluation. Secondary school students must have undergone 4 to 6 consecutive months of written language re-education interventions (special education/speech therapy), not simply remedial classes, prior to diagnostic evaluation. Reports or progress notes detailing these re-education interventions must also be submitted.
